Welcome to the official website of Hexham Model Flying Club. Affiliated to the BMFA, our Club comprises of about 20 members.
HMFC exists to promote and safeguard the enjoyment of model aircraft flying in the Hexham area. We fly powered (I.C. and electric) fixed wing aircraft, helicopters and also enjoy glider flying.
Membership is by application. Fees for 2012 are held at £37 per year for senior members and free for under 18s. Members must also be a member of the BMFA who supply the necessary insurance required to fly model aircraft. For more information and current fees, complete an online application (requires Word 2007), or download a printable application form.
We fly at Watch Currock, a large grass strip suitable for all types of model with fantastic scenery above Hexham and at indoor venues.

We encourage novice pilots and have instructors and examiners available, enabling members participate in the B.M.F.A. achievment scheme.
By far the best way into this hobby is to join a model flying club. They can offer help and advice that will avoid the costly problems and crashes that are otherwise inevitable. It is always wise to contact the club first before buying any equipment to ensure compatibility with the clubs training equipment. A list of clubs can be found here.
We meet every 2nd Tuesday of the month at Hexham RAFA Club and most Thursdays at the Sports Hall Haydon Bridge High School, both at 8:30pm. Come along and meet us.
